Treatment Programs

Evidence-based programs tailored to your unique recovery needs

Our Programs

Medical Detox

Our medical detox program provides 24/7 physician-supervised withdrawal management over a 3-to-7-day period. Using medication-assisted treatment protocols backed by SAMHSA guidelines, our medical team monitors vital signs continuously and adjusts pharmacological support to minimize discomfort and reduce medical risk.

Detox at ABH Rehab is more than symptom management. From the first day, patients participate in brief psychoeducation sessions that explain the neurological processes behind withdrawal, helping them understand what their body and brain are experiencing. This knowledge-first approach reduces anxiety and builds confidence for the treatment stages ahead.

Residential Treatment

Our residential program runs 30 to 90 days and is structured around the community-meeting model. Each morning begins with a full house meeting where patients check in, set daily intentions, and connect with their peer mentors. This format builds accountability and fosters the interpersonal skills that sustain long-term sobriety.

Throughout the day, residents engage in individual counseling, group therapy sessions, and experiential modalities including equine-assisted therapy and nature-based activities on our walking trails. Evening house meetings close each day with reflection and peer support. Our residential patients have access to private rooms, shared suites, and semi-private rooms, along with our full range of campus amenities.

Outpatient Program

Our outpatient program is designed for patients who have completed residential treatment or whose clinical assessment indicates they can maintain recovery while living at home. Sessions run 8 to 12 weeks and include both intensive outpatient (IOP) and standard outpatient tracks.

Outpatient patients attend group therapy, individual counseling, and community peer meetings at our Alhambra facility while continuing to work, attend school, or manage family responsibilities. The program emphasizes relapse prevention planning, SMART Recovery skills, and ongoing connection to the local recovery community in the San Gabriel Valley.

Dual Diagnosis

Nearly 50% of individuals with a substance use disorder also meet criteria for a co-occurring mental health condition. ABH Rehab's dual diagnosis program provides integrated treatment for both conditions simultaneously, because research consistently shows that treating them in isolation leads to poorer outcomes.

Our staff psychiatrist and clinical team use comprehensive neuropsychological assessments to identify co-occurring disorders such as depression, PTSD, anxiety, and bipolar disorder. Treatment plans combine pharmacotherapy, EMDR, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and trauma-informed group work. The goal is not just sobriety — it is whole-person stabilization.
